The reception, lobby and club lounge designed by Streetsense feature over 5,500 square feet of plaster including a custom ‘raked’ finish and Armourcoat Spatulata - a highly luxurious finish with remarkable depth and sheen. Developed from traditional materials, Spatulata is a marble stucco paste which is trowel applied in numerous fine layers by skilled applicators. The resulting highly polished decorative surface adds a touch of luxury to interior spaces.

Stunning decorative surface finishes by specialist installers Senza Finé create a welcoming lobby space to The Cantata, a new luxury apartment building in the Mount Vernon Triangle.

Designed by SmithGroup JJR, The Cantata has views of the Capitol and a host of amenities including a fitness center, rooftop swimming pool and entertainment areas. As part of the interior fit-out over 2,000 square feet of Armourcoat Spatulata polished plaster and Perlata architectural coatings have been installed throughout the lobby and mailroom.

Spatulata is a superfine marble stucco paste, applied by trowel to create a highly polished decorative surface. Perlata is a water-based decorative wall coating, formulated with effect pigments that create an elegant finish with a subtle surface shimmer. Both finishes boast an impressive list of technical features including excellent durability, scrub and stain resistance.

Eye-catching amenities and custom polished plaster wall finishes from Senza Finé, set a luxury apartment building apart within an upscale urban community near Washington D.C. 672 Flats, conceived by Linowes Design Associates, delivers boutique living with a fresh urban style.

A six-story 173-unit development close to the Ballston Metro, 672 Flats presents a modern industrial interior with resident facilities at its heart. Resort-inspired features include a massive sports bar and game room with billiards, poker table, shuffleboard, air hockey and video games. Specialist installers at Senza Finé hand-applied close to 900 square feet of Armourcoat polished plaster finishes in the game room and leasing office.

A black Spatulata plaster finish with a cross-hatched design provides a dramatic backdrop for colorful artwork and designer furnishing. In addition, an ArmourGlass finish specified in a light gray color creates a seamless high gloss ‘lacquer’ effect. Both highly reflective surfaces offer a touch of luxury to interior spaces. The resulting project has earned a LEED® Silver certification.

The interior design concept created in partnership with KNEAD Hospitality + Design has produced a vibrant and dramatic setting with private dining rooms and waterfront patio seating. In the main restaurant area over 1,000 square feet of a sandy colored Armourcoat polished plaster wall finish was installed, together with 300 square feet of a custom lava rock finish at the entrance.

Polished plaster is a natural mineral material composed of hydrated lime and crushed marble to create finishes which resembles natural stone. It is trowel applied by specialist installers to create smooth or finely textured finishes which resemble polished stone in their appearance, hardness and touch.
