πŸ’™ WE NEED YOUR HELP πŸ’™

Every year, our Fall Festival brings together veterans, first responders, active-duty military members, and their families for a day of connection, appreciation, and community.

For many families, this isn't just another event. It's a chance to feel seen. It's a chance to spend time together without worrying about the financial burdens, stress, and sacrifices that often come with a life of service.

Today, we're asking our community to step up and help us make that possible.

We are urgently seeking sponsors and donations for the 3rd Annual Fall Festival on September 26, 2026.

Your support will help us provide:

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ A free family-friendly community event
πŸš“ Recognition and support for our first responders
πŸŽ–οΈ Appreciation for our veterans and military families
🎢 Entertainment, activities, and resources for hundreds of attendees
🀝 Opportunities to connect families with organizations and services that can make a difference in their lives

Whether you're a business owner, community leader, or someone who simply believes in giving back, your contribution matters.

When you partner with us, you're not just sponsoring an eventβ€”you are investing in the people who have dedicated their lives to serving others.

We cannot do this alone.

If you have ever wanted to make a direct impact in the lives of veterans, first responders, and their families, this is your opportunity.

πŸš” FIVE OFFICERS. FIVE FAMILIES FOREVER CHANGED. πŸš”

June 2026 was a heartbreaking month for the law enforcement community. Five officers lost their lives in roadway-related incidents while serving and protecting their communities:

πŸ–€ Officer Trevor Howard – Marked Tree Police Department
πŸ–€ Deputy Erika Serrato – Montgomery County Sheriff's Office
πŸ–€ Deputy Damian Bost – Columbus County Sheriff's Office
πŸ–€ Trooper Sergio Romero – Texas Department of Public Safety
πŸ–€ Officer Dustin Krish – Carrollton Police Department

Behind every badge is a spouse, child, parent, sibling, friend, and community that expects their loved one to come home safely.

Too many first responders are struck and killed while working crashes, conducting traffic stops, assisting motorists, or protecting scenes on our roadways.

⚠️ When you see emergency lights ahead: βœ… MOVE OVER if it is safe to do so.
βœ… SLOW DOWN significantly.
βœ… Put your phone down.
βœ… Stay alert and give first responders room to work.

A few seconds of patience can save a life.

At Backing The Brave TX and Thin Line Force, we stand with the families, agencies, and communities mourning these heroes. Please keep their loved ones and brothers and sisters in blue in your prayers.

πŸ’™ Officer Safety Starts With All Of Us.
πŸ’™ Move Over. Slow Down.
πŸ’™ Someone is waiting for them to come home.

MCSO Deputy Killed in Line of Duty on Interstate 45

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of one of our own following a tragic incident that occurred early Sunday morning.

On June 28, 2026, at approximately 2:39 a.m., deputies responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 45 North near the Woodlands Parkway exit. Deputies arrived on scene and began assisting with this DWI crash investigation, including directing traffic to ensure the safety of those involved.

While deputies were actively working the scene, a heavy-duty commercial truck pulling a trailer struck Deputy Erika Serrato who was outside her vehicle directing traffic, along with two marked patrol vehicles that had emergency lights activated.
Deputy Serrato, 24 years old, who was assigned to District 2, was transported to a local hospital where she unfortunately succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. She was serving the community with dedication and courage at the time of her death. She has been employed with MCSO for 6 years.

An additional MCSO Deputy was also injured during the incident after being struck by debris. He sustained minor injuries, was treated at a local hospital and was released.

One of the drivers involved in the initial crash, identified as Ashton Jammer, a 34-year-old male, has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated and will be transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

The driver of the commercial vehicle that struck Deputy Serrato was transported to a local hospital, and this crash remains under investigation.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office extends sincere gratitude to all assisting agencies that responded to this tragic incident, including the Texas Department of Public Safety, Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Houston Police Department, Oak Ridge North Police Department, Shenandoah Police Department, Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office, Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, The Woodlands Fire Department, South Montgomery County Fire Department, and Montgomery County Hospital District.

β€œOur hearts are broken today,” said Sheriff Doolittle. β€œDeputy Serrato made the ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting our community. We ask that you keep her family, friends, and fellow deputies in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. We grieve alongside them.”

Additional information, including funeral arrangements, will be released in the coming days.
