We had a fantastic time at the 3rd annual Engineering Student Center Leadership Retreat at the Adventure Learning Program ropes course the last Saturday in September! Students from the College of Engineering, including students involved in NSBE, QTE, SHPE, SWE, and WESC, built community and connections while engaging in fun activities and challenging themselves to get out of their comfort zones!

ESP 2025 is officially over! To start the week off, participants spent time paddleboarding on Lake Mendota while getting to explore Memorial Union. From Monday to Wednesday, students worked hard in their last days of class and finished their final design projects. Those projects were then presented to judges Thursday and were awarded for best prototype, poster, and overall design on Friday. In addition to design project awards, our closing ceremony included student testimonials and speeches from College of Engineering faculty.

That concludes our first week of ESP! This week, students have had time to settle into campus and get to know each other through team bonding activities like our bonfire, State Capitol Tour and ALPS ropes course. Campers have also been working had to complete their Engineering Design project while balancing it with their Math, Physics, and Chemistry courses. Wish our students good luck as they prepare to present their final projects this Thursday!
