Today is 10 year anniversary of when I put together my 8 piece band and brought them to Bluesfest to perform my music. We thought maybe about 50 people would walk in if we were lucky but within 10 minutes of us starting, the tent was over flowing with people having to stand outside around the tent. I will always cherish this memory and every single person in the band who always believed in my vision and sang and played their hearts out.

2nd and 3rd: the band... that I referred to as the Po boys (named after our favourite sandwich that we used to all eat at leftys after we would play for 3 or 4 hours)

Unfortunately a lot of people who have worked closely with me never understood what my whole "thing" is.
I always thought it was strange that anyone should have to explain their art.

The whole reason I started making music was because I witnessed someone else sing a melody mixed with such beautiful words that I had never felt so present in my entire life, it was like I was awake for the first time. Nothing before mattered anymore and nothing that was yet to come either. For the first time in my life I felt complete peace and stillness. The song wasn't even a relaxing song it was just so amazing and tapped into something so incredible. I realised that's what I want to spend the rest of my life doing. Singing and writing in a way that when people come to see me perform it live it snaps them into the present moment.

Life is hard, I appreciated that I now knew that something out there existed that could turn off the noise of the entire world and all that existed was this person infront of me singing me into stillness.

All of the people in this photo always have understood what that means and the power of that.

Thank you everyone who gets it and has stuck around. I know I keep saying I have music coming. Well, it's finished and ready I'm working 2 jobs outside of my music to save enough money to release it properly.
