Congratulations Chief Rice!

After 46 years of unwavering dedication to the fire service, Fire Chief Bill Rice has officially retired, leaving the firehouse today for the final time on active duty.

Chief Riceโ€™s career has been defined by progress, leadership, and an unshakable dedication. Throughout the years, he helped shape our department through growth, mentorship, and a deep sense of professional service that will continue to influence generations of firefighters.

Beyond his work within our department, Chief Rice made a lasting impact on the broader area fire service. Through his work as a firefighting instructor and his work within the MABAS system, he helped train, support, and strengthen departments across the region, ensuring firefighters were prepared to serve their communities safely and effectively.

While today marks the end of his tenure, the legacy he leaves behind will remain in every firefighter he mentored, every life impacted, and every standard of excellence he helped build.

Thank you, Chief Rice, for 46 years of service, leadership, and dedication. Wishing you a well-deserved retirement. ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ‘
