Today, Monrovia Volunteer Fire Rescue is conducting live burn training on Melody Circle, providing our firefighters with valuable hands-on experience in realistic fireground conditions.
Live burn scenarios are one of the most important types of training we can conduct. These controlled burns allow our members to sharpen critical skills such as fire attack, search and rescue, ventilation, hose advancement, communication, and incident command all while operating in real heat, smoke, and changing fire conditions.
Training like this helps prepare our firefighters to respond safely, effectively, and efficiently when real emergencies happen in our community. We are committed to continuing to train at a high level to better serve and protect the citizens of Monrovia.
Residents may notice smoke plumes visible from a distance during training operations; however, all appropriate safety precautions and monitoring measures are being taken throughout the exercise.
We appreciate the support of our community as we continue training for the real thing.
