We are grateful for Paul Baxley’s timely reminder of a conviction that has long been part of Cooperative Baptist Fellowship life: God calls women and men to ministry, and local congregations are entrusted with discerning those callings under the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We invite you to read and share his statement.

“God equally calls women and men to all places of leadership in the church, including preaching, pastoral leadership and as senior pastor.”

As we prepare to gather for 2026 General Assembly next week in Jacksonville, CBF Executive Coordinator Paul Baxley reaffirms our commitment to the Fellowship since its beginning 35 years ago: God calls and gifts women and men alike for ministry leadership.

At CBF General Assembly, kids and youth don’t just tag along—they get their own experience.

Age Level Assemblies (ALA) are back with a fresh twist: a parallel Assembly just for them—full of faith, friends and fun while exploring what it means to be a Cooperative Baptist.

I Forgot How Vulnerable Preaching Feels 06/03/2026

Our coordinator, Lucas Dorion, continues his reflections from the pulpit as he serves as interim pastor at Woodland Forest Church in Tuscaloosa.

In this latest entry of One Sunday after Another, Lucas reflects on grief, preaching, vulnerability, and the grace of a church that made space for him when he needed it most.

We hope you'll take a few minutes to read and reflect with him.

I Forgot How Vulnerable Preaching Feels When I launched this series, I intended to share these reflections every couple of weeks.
