Despite getting back late from Madison last night, I helped place U.S. flags along Highway 141 and in the Village for the American Legion in Crivitz this morning. These flags, which will fly throughout the summer, are a bold reminder of the sacrifice made by the brave men and women who served in our armed forces. As Memorial Day approaches, may they continue to honor and preserve the memory of those who paid the ultimate price for our country.

Yesterday, SB 798 was signed into law by Governor Evers. The bill I authored with Wisconsin State Senator Mary Felzkowski, makes the Assured Wetland Delineator program permanent. The program allows qualified professionals to identify and map wetlands for permitting without requiring a DNR site visit in every case, saving time and resources. Developed with stakeholder and DNR support, the bill sets clear certification standards, requires oversight and audits, authorizes investigations and corrective action, and allows revocation for serious violations.

For 4 years, we’ve been working on legislation to help communities impacted by PFAS. After months of working with constituents, environmental groups, industry, and the Evers administration, the Assembly passed a bill 93-0 that will make funding available for contaminated wells, protects innocent landowners from liability, and holds responsible parties accountable.

🎉 Congratulations, Barbara Scherbarth! 🎉
Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to present Barbara Scherbarth with the First Responder of the Year Award for Wisconsin’s 36th Assembly District! Nominated by community members, Barbara’s recognition reflects the deep respect and appreciation she has earned through her 23 years of service to the Pembine-Dunbar-Beecher Rescue Squad.
At 80 years old, she still volunteers over 40 hours a week, demonstrating extraordinary commitment and compassion.
Thank you, Barbara, for your selfless service to our community!
