Today, Thursday, May 21, 2026, is Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) - a day dedicated to digital access, inclusion, and the more than one billion people worldwide with disabilities.

As a blind musician, producer, and studio owner, this isn't just an industry topic for me—it’s my everyday reality. I know firsthand how vital it is to have tools that allow us to create without barriers. 🔊✨

That’s why I am also thrilled to share that May is The MIDI Month! The MIDI Association’s Music Accessibility Special Interest Group is doing incredible work highlighting how MIDI, assistive technology, inclusive design, and co-creation with disabled musicians can help make music creation accessible for everyone.

Even better, The MIDI Fund actively supports projects and programs that advance engagement in music-making. By expanding the ways people can make, create, and explore music through MIDI, they are helping to ensure that physical or visual limitations never stand in the way of artistic expression.

When we design with accessibility in mind, we unlock a world of untapped talent and beautiful music for everyone. Let’s keep pushing for a world where technology empowers every single voice!
