The Jones County School System School Nutrition Program is pleased to offer free summer meals to children through the Seamless Summer Option (SSO). This federally funded program helps ensure that children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session.

Who Is Eligible?
All children:
Ages 18 and under, and
Students age 19 and older with a documented mental or physical disability
Meals are provided at no cost, and no application or income paperwork is required.

What Is the Seamless Summer Option?
The Seamless Summer Option is a summer extension of the National School Lunch Program, allowing school districts to serve free meals during the summer months. Meals served through this program meet all USDA nutrition guidelines and are designed to support children’s health and well‑being while school is out of session.
In accordance with USDA and Georgia Department of Education guidance, Jones County operates summer meals as a non‑congregate service. This means:
Meals are not required to be eaten on site
Meals are distributed as grab‑and‑go, walk‑up, or (drive‑through service-not available)
Parents or guardians may pick up meals for eligible children
Meals are intended to be taken home and consumed off‑site

Important Program Guidelines
To ensure compliance with federal regulations:
Meals are provided during designated service times
Meals must be taken once per child per service day
All meals must be consumed by the child for whom they are intended

Why This Program Matters
The Seamless Summer Option helps:
Reduce summer hunger
Support children’s learning readiness
Ease grocery costs for families
Ensure continued access to nutritious meals when school is out

Questions?
Locations and meal service times are noted on the Summer Feeding flyer; Jones County Schools will not be open for operation in the week of June 29th. The official last day of the summer meal program is June 25, 2026. If additional information is needed, please contact:
