For International Forgiveness Day, we thought it would be appropriate to discuss the importance of forgiveness! Holding a grudge hurts you more than them.
Harvard researchers say hanging onto resentment toward someone who wronged you can fuel anxiety, depression, and stress, but learning to forgive can help you feel genuinely free!
There are two sides to forgiveness: deciding to let go of ill will (the easier part), and actually releasing the negative emotions tied to it (the harder part, since old feelings tend to resurface). The REACH method is one that researchers have recommended to navigate forgiveness! Try it out this week and see if it makes a difference!
