or Sophomores attend Six week training increments prior to graduation from college. They will attend PLC Juniors the first time they go to OCS and PLC Seniors during their second trip to OCS. Candidates who are Juniors in college attend PLC Combined which is a 10 week course between your Junior and Senior year. ALL training takes place during the summer months so there are no scheduling conflicts with school. Platoon Leaders Class selection boards convene in November and April. PLC offers ONLY active duty contracts to include Ground, Air, NFO and Law. Officer Candidate Course (OCC)
OCC is a 10 week long course at Officer Candidate School designed for College Seniors and Graduates who possess a 4 year bachelors degree. There are (3) courses per year that occur in the Fall, Winter and Summer. OCC Selection boards convene in July, November and March. OCC offers Ground, Aviation, Naval Flight Officer, Reserve and Law contracts. TYPES OF CONTRACTS:
Ground - There are many different Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) available. Contact the Officer Selection Office for a complete list. Air - ALL AIR CONTRACTS ARE GUARANTEED A SEAT IN FLIGHT SCHOOL. In order to qualify for aviation candidates MUST pass the Aviation Selection Test Battery - Electronic version (ASTB-E) and a NAMI flight physical. Naval Flight Officer - ALL NFO CONTRACTS ARE GUARANTEED A SEAT IN FLIGHT SCHOOL. In order to qualify for NFO, candidates MUST pass the Aviation Selection Test Battery - Electronic version (ASTB-E) and a NAMI flight physical. Law - To qualify for law programs you must possess a bachelors degree and have been accepted to or enrolled full time in a law school. Upon graduation of law school you must pass the BAR exam in any state. You must score a minimum of a 150 on the LSAT. Reserve - Only OCC Candidates are eligible for the reserves. As a reserve officer you go through ALL of the same training that active duty officers go through. When you complete the training you report to a Marine Corps Reserve Unit and drill one weekend a month and a two week period in the summer every year. Reserves allow officers to maintain civilian jobs or to continue their education while serving as a Marine Corps Officer. ELIGIBILITY:
Academics:
Candidates MUST be enrolled full-time and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA to be eligible. You must score a minimum of a 22 composite on the ACT, 1000 SAT (Math and Critical Reading scores combined) or a 74 AFQT (On the ASVAB). Medical:
Candidates must pass a medical physical at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) or through the Department DoDMERB) (waivers are granted on a case by case basis for injuries / illness / etc. based on your medical history). Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
You must pass a Physical Fitness Test with a score of 225/300 to qualify. In order to be competitive for selection it is recommended that you score above a 250 out of 300. Males:
- 20 Pullups is a max score of 100 points. Each pull up is worth 5 points.

- 100 crunches in 2 minutes or less is a max score. Each crunch is worth 1 point.

- (3) Mile Run: 18 minutes is a max score of 100 points. For every 10 seconds past 18 minutes 1 point will be deducted from your score. Females:
- Flexed Arm Hang of 70 seconds is worth 100 points. Females are also encouaged to work on pullups although this is not a formal requirement...yet.

- (3) Mile Run: 21 minutes is a max score of 100 points. For every 10 seconds past 21 minutes 1 point will be deducted from your score. Moral:
Waivers can be granted on a case by case basis for Minimal police involvement, minimimal illegal substance usage history, tattoos. The Marine Corps has a very strict tattoo policy, if you have tattoos contact the Officer Selection Team to have them give you your options.
