Lubbock Forecast Update 🌬️
Quiet weather sticks around through tonight, but a strong cold front is on the way early Saturday. Expect a quick wind shift and gusty north winds behind it — stronger than most models suggest. Timing of the front will decide how warm we get Saturday, but plan on a cooler and breezier afternoon! 💨🌡️

Breezy and dry conditions will develop from eastern New Mexico into the Texas Panhandle and South Plains. Some areas may see humidity drop near 15%, creating an elevated fire danger on Thursday

LUBBOCK FORECAST:
Today will be sunny and warmer with breezy southwest winds developing through the afternoon. Winds will gradually decrease this evening but remain strong enough to keep overnight lows mild.

Today: Sunny, with a high near 86°F. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph.
Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 50°F. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

A roller coaster of temperatures is expected through the week as multiple cold fronts move through the region. Near-record highs are forecast for Thursday, when strong downslope flow and dry air could push temperatures close to the upper 80s, bringing elevated fire weather conditions.

Much cooler weather is expected to arrive by Sunday into early next week following the passage of a stronger cold front. Dry conditions will continue through the period, with winds shifting west and northwest behind the late-week fronts.
