The historic Cactus Theater opened in April of 1938 at a cost of around $30,000 and it originally featured 720 seats and a “washed air cooling system”. The original venue operated from 1938-1958. It found new life from the mid-1990s when it was revitalized and opened primarily as a live concert and theatrical venue and operated under the guidance of Don Caldwell for the next 22 years.
