04/28/2026 - We are still on track to see widespread rainfall Thursday through Friday across eastern New Mexico and western Texas! While we are still fine-tuning just exactly how much rainfall we're expected to see, here is a *preliminary* look at what data is suggesting. *THESE NUMBERS WILL CHANGE* Focus more on the pattern, and less on the numbers with this graphic. Localized heavier totals could exceed 2" with this event. Northern locations are expected to see the lightest rainfall, with the most widespread, heavier rain likely over central and southeastern locations⛈

4:03 PM CDT 04/28/2026 - Our cold front is slowly making its way into the region this afternoon. Ahead of the front, it is warm and windy. Once the front passes through tonight, clouds will build and cooler air will filter in! A much cooler, cloudier day is in store for our Wednesday tomorrow!

04/28/2026 3:29 PM CDT - Know of anyone in the DFW Metroplex this afternoon? Some pretty intense storms are headed that way, expected to impact the area during peak rush hour this evening. These storms have a history of producing tornadoes and at least golf ball sized hail (1.75" in diameter). The environment they're moving into is favorable for continued intensification! Flights between Lubbock and Dallas will likely see delays, possibly even cancellations this evening.
