DPPC’s Message to community members:
The Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC) is an independent state agency that investigates abuse committed by caregivers against persons with disabilities, between the ages of 18-59. The DPPC is currently looking to connect with CODs across Massachusetts to provide information about the agency and its abuse reporting hotline, so that commission members can be better prepared to make reports of their own, and so that they can disseminate this information to others in their area.
The DPPC also offers longer, more in-depth training on the prevalence of abuse against persons with disabilities, what types of cases to report, and how to recognize abuse indicators.
Disabled Persons Protection Commission DPPC protects adults with disabilities from the abusive acts or omissions of their caregivers through investigation oversight, public awareness, and prevention.
