Since 1986 and from its origins as a City of Louisville department, Brightside has developed and maintained beautiful landscapes throughout the Metro area. Its mission and reach have changed much since its early days as a beautification site manager and neighborhood clean-up agency. It now provides outstanding educational programs and just this past April, launched the Mayor’s One Bright City initiative to help Louisville become a truly clean, green, and sustainable community.

🎉 Congratulations, Angela Richardson! 🎉
Louisville Metro Public Works is pleased to announce the appointment of Angela Richardson as Interim Director of Brightside, Inc., effective June 22, 2026.
With 14 years of service to Louisville Metro Government, Angela has held leadership roles in GIS analysis, COVID Incident Management, Performance Improvement, and most recently as Executive Administrator of Business Intelligence for Public Works. Her experience and dedication make her well-positioned to lead Brightside during this transition.
