House of Representatives passed a bill that would ban abortions after 20 weeks. Co-sponsors of this legislation were four Kentucky Representatives, namely Tom Massie, Brett Guthrie, Andy Barr and Hal Rogers. While it is unlikely that this bill will pass in the U.S. Senate, and would surely be vetoed by the President, it is this type of legislation that escalating and gaining strength in state legi

You must vote! Not the time to sit home.
This May primary decides who will be on the ballot for this November midterm election.
Do NOT cast a “one issue” or “protest” vote. Every vote is needed!

Remember U.S. Senators confirm federal judges - i.e. Supreme Court Justices.
VOTE WISELY.

RRFKY will vet and endorse all the candidates after the May primary. SO get the best ones elected and help us support them.
RRFKY is the only pro-choice, federal multi-candidate PAC in Kentucky. Our mission and purpose are to be a non-partisan, Kentucky focused, political action committee that supports, both publicly and financially, those state and federal elected officials and viable candidates who safeguard women's rights.

BALLOTS
Want to vote “straight party” and also vote for an opposing candidate whose name appears on the ballot for a specific race? That vote will be counted for the opposing candidate for that specific race and the remaining votes on the ballot will be counted for the straight political party.
A “straight party” vote does NOT count for the non-partisan races; vote those separately.

You do not have to vote for every race on the ballot. Just vote for one person and your ballot is valid.

DO NOT accept a ‘Provisional Ballot”. Kentucky is one of four states that list ONLY federal races on provisional ballots. You will not be able to vote for any local, state, federal or judicial races.

An absentee ballot has to be in the County Clerk’s office by 6 p.m. ON Election Day – NOT postmarked. Better to drop it in one of the drop boxes. To check the status of your absentee ballot: https://vrsws.sos.ky.gov/vic/

Kentucky law mandates that an employer must give their employees four hours off to vote. This is without pay.

Polls open on Tuesday, May 19 at 6 a.m., close at 6 p.m. local time. If in line at 6 p.m., you can vote.

You will need to provide one of these identifications to vote:
U.S. or Kentucky government-issued identification card such as Driver’s license, passport, or any other form of ID containing both picture and signature. The id can be expired.

Hard of hearing or vision impaired? Every polling place has touch screen voting machines.

If your name is not on voting roster at the polls:
Talk to the onsite Election Supervisor. He/she will call the Election Center to see if your eligibility to vote is valid.
If still not resolved, go to the Election Center or the County Clerk’s to appeal to the Board of Elections. You will get an "order" that you take back to your precinct to vote.
If that does not resolve the issue, you can appeal to the onsite Circuit Court Judge, who can overrule the Board. The judge will give you a Court Order that you take back to your precinct to vote. AND all of this must be done before 6 p.m. on Election Day – SO VOTE EARLY to correct any issues.

Emergency Medical Ballots:
If you become sick or are in the hospital, you can request a paper absentee ballot until May 19. Call your county clerk’s office.
