Spesh
Spesh exists because I care loudly — about students, about parents and about teachers.

SPESH MOM AKA HONEY POST:
Charley lets me see the insights for this page since I have a lottle (it’s like a little, but it’s A LOT) experience with using this platform…
Let me just say that the Spesh community is growing and evolving and thriving and we are so grateful! My girl is working hard, yall! She needs somebody to fold laundry, because raising 3 babies, loving on this community and farming and preparing to teach future teachers is keeping her super busy! 😆
Really though, her family is so proud of her efforts—we’re so excited to meet you all and help everyone feel seen, loved and heard.
Over the last 28 days this page has reached over 77,000 people. That’s 77,000 people that have been interested in the message, in inclusion, in the stories behind the Faces of Spesh and in the future of how Spesh is going to help this world be a better place for ALL.
Thank you to all of you who share, who interact, who believe in helping and especially those who have helped—not only to make my girl’s dreams a reality, but to those who understand that this is so much bigger than just a local advocacy page… to me it’s the beginning of a movement.
A movement that includes dignity, inclusion, education, love, work, and provides an example and directions for all communities to follow. What a wonderful opportunity to get to be a part of it all!
Charley’s off doing good work today and I just thought I’d share❤️
It costs $0 to show up in many ways for the things and people we believe in! And we appreciate every interaction!
Be blessed and introduce yourself to a new friend the next time you get the chance!
❤️, whit

Who’s that girl?
It’s Spesh.
I rock a lot of beige checkered.
I brake for birds.
I’ve probably touched glitter in the past 24 hours.
This might be the most “me” outfit I’ve ever worn ✊🏻🥰
The teal sneakers are reminding me of my puffy Vans skater shoes from 5th grade. Some things never change.
Wish me luck today 🍀 I’m going to be on TV!!

I thought I was setting up a bracelet activity at Faces of Spesh.
I didn't realize I was creating a space where everyone could belong. 💛
The Bracelet Bar brought together toddlers, preschoolers, older kids, parents, and friends who were meeting for the first time. They created, shared, helped each other, and celebrated their finished bracelets together.
One of my favorite lessons from the day came from something simple: a pipe cleaner.
It was an intentional adaptation I brought to make bracelet making more accessible—but I didn't expect it to become the favorite option for so many kids. It opened the door for little hands, fine motor needs, and anyone who needed a different way to participate.
Inclusion doesn't have to be expensive or complicated.
Sometimes it's a simple craft supply that helps someone say, "I can do this."
I shared the story behind the Bracelet Bar on the blog. 💛

The Bracelet Bar Was Never Just About Making Bracelets A bracelet activity became so much more than a craft. At Faces of Spesh, a simple adaptation--a pipe cleaner--opened the door for toddlers, preschoolers, and friends with fine motor needs to participate together. The Bracelet Bar is built on one belief: everyone deserves a way to create, co...

✨ Introducing the Bracelet Bar! ✨
At first glance, it looks like colorful beads and friendship bracelets.
But it's so much more than that. 💛
The Bracelet Bar was created with one goal in mind: to make connection accessible for everyone.
Some friends love creating their own bracelets.
Others feel more successful choosing one that's already made.
So we do both.
🌈 Pre-made bracelets to wear, trade, or gift.
🌈 Bracelet-making kits for independent or supported creators.
🌈 Activities designed to build fine motor skills, communication, creativity, turn-taking, and confidence.
One of my favorite things about the Faces of Spesh event was watching this simple activity bring people together.
Preschoolers sat beside middle schoolers.
Boys proudly made bracelets.
Adults joined in.
Friends of all abilities found something they could enjoy.
That's what inclusion looks like.
Whether it's a birthday party, school event, therapy clinic, family gathering, vendor event, or community celebration, the Bracelet Bar creates opportunities for friendship, conversation, and belonging.
💙 These bracelet kits will make their debut at the Barn Pop-Up this Wednesday!
I'll also be linking the Bracelet Bar page below if you'd like to learn more about booking the Bracelet Bar or ordering kits for your own event.
Because sometimes...
a bracelet is just a bracelet.
And sometimes...
it's the beginning of a friendship. 🩵
