That each person at Sanders is a unique individual and that the dignity of every person is to be maintained and respected at all times. That we have the responsibility to provide learning opportunities to meet the intellectual, physical, social, and personal development needs of our students. That all students can learn best in a safe, orderly, and positive school environment. That all students can learn and that effort is as important as ability. That students, staff, parents, and community members are all members of the school team. That decisions are to be made in the spirit of cooperation through a shared decision-making process. (SBDM)
That optimal learning occurs when there are partnerships between the school, family, and community. That each person at Sanders can develop a tolerance for change, will be able to see patterns and order in the change, and will be prepared to adjust to change effectively. That students need to understand their national heritage and the privileges and responsibilities of democracy. That there is a value and significance in our diverse cultures and that all persons need to develop an understanding and appreciation of our multicultural society. That it is our responsibility to guide every student to become a competent, caring, projective, responsible individual and a person who is commited to continue learning throughout life. That our philosophy of education must be continally evaluated as the needs of our school, community, and the world around us change.
