ISO 9001:2026 will be published this September.

If you're currently certified to ISO 9001:2015, the anticipated three-year transition window begins at publication, and auditors will be looking for specific evidence across five updated clause areas.

The gap usually doesn't surface until an organization is sitting across from a certification body. By then, the prep window is closed.

We built the ISO 9001:2026 Gap Analysis Toolkit so you can find your gaps before they find you.

It's a structured self-assessment with three sections:
• A 30-row clause-by-clause checklist covering all five updated areas (Clauses 4.1, 5.1, 6.1, 6.3, and 8.2)
• An Action Planning Register to assign owners, priorities, and timelines to every gap identified
• An Executive Summary you can present directly to leadership or your internal audit team

In a single structured session, you'll have a documented readiness position, not a guess.

ISO 9001:2026 is not a structural overhaul. It is five targeted clause updates — and three of them generate evidence that most QMS platforms cannot produce on their own.

The Draft International Standard was published in August 2025. Final publication targets September 2026. Transition deadline: September 2029.
The clause changes most organizations are underprepared for:

• Clause 4.1 — Climate change must now be explicitly addressed in your context analysis. A dated determination is required, whether you consider it relevant or not. Missing entirely is a finding.
• Clauses 5.1 & 7.3 — Ethical behavior awareness must be documented at the role level with completion records, dates, and content references. A policy document does not satisfy this.
• Clause 6.3 — Every QMS change must include a defined post-implementation verification step before the record can close. An implementation date alone is insufficient.

Organizations running a standalone QMS face a specific problem here. Clauses 5.1, 7.3, and 6.3 all require evidence that lives in the learning management layer — training completion records linked to specific procedures, changes, and management review actions. Without a native LMS, that evidence has to be manually exported and reconciled before every audit. It's the kind of gap that doesn't surface until the auditor is in the room.

eLeaP's QMS and LMS share the same record layer. When a procedure is approved or a change closes, training assignments link directly to the quality record. Clause 7.3 evidence exists at the moment of completion — not assembled the week before an audit.
