Inspired by the client’s magnificent craftsman style home, this elevated retreat honors both architectural heritage and the natural majesty of its old-growth oak hosts. The expansive deck, wrapped in sculptural railings with flowing metal waves, creates a playful dialogue between classic cabin aesthetics and contemporary artistry. Here, traditional craftsmanship meets modern innovation, offering a sophisticated sanctuary that celebrates the simple beauty found in both built and natural forms.

📍The Pinecone Treehouse

Suspended between ancient redwoods in the enchanted forests of Bonny Doon, the Pinecone Treehouse floats like a crystalline seed pod more than 50 feet above the forest floor. The 22-foot high by 14-foot diameter structure features 56 laser-cut steel diamond frames meticulously welded together to create its distinctive pinecone silhouette. Floor-to-ceiling glass panels provide breathtaking 360° panoramic views of the surrounding redwood canopy, dissolving the boundary between interior and forest.

An off-grid bathroom connected via wooden catwalk completes this self-sufficient sanctuary in the sky. Every element was crafted with intention - from the hand-built window frames to the innovative suspension system distributing the 5.5-ton weight across five living redwoods.

Inspired by the organic forms of the plant kingdom, Leaf Palace blends curved architecture, panoramic windows, and natural materials to create a space that feels suspended between reality and fantasy. Every angle is designed to draw your eyes back to the forest, dissolving the boundary between indoors and out.

A suspended netted loft floats beneath the canopy, creating a secret hideaway where you can lounge, daydream, and discover hidden views through the leaves.
