I met with the new city manager of Malibu today and highlighted ways that rebuilding and all permits can go faster. Since I worked there, I can see where great strides and improvements can be made.

Here’s my controversial statement – I think city staff are excellent at their job, they just need the right tools to excel.

The city manager will be bringing my ideas to the team next week. I am hopeful for improvements in the process. 🙏

Sewer system on Pacific Coast Highway???

There’s a lot of talk about a sewer going on PCH. IS IT?? How is that going to impact the beachfront homes that need to be rebuilt?

To get home ASAP and get permits, you need to design for an advanced septic system.

But Solishia - why would I spend thousands of dollars on a septic system design if they’re not even going to install it? And a sewer gets put in?

Because nobody knows for sure if a sewer is going to be put in. The city won’t let you rebuild if they don’t know where your $h!t is going.

Trust me. I oversaw the city’s septic systems. You want to get home fast - so design for an advanced septic system.

Rebuilding after the Palisades and Eaton fires? The plans that got approved early on wouldn’t get you an approval now.
