As we near the end of 2024, we’re making one final (BIG) push to ensure that kids in protracted conflict settings are safe, motivated, and learning in school.

From now until the end of the year, we have a 1:1 match up to $120K! Let’s finish the year out strong TOGETHER to transform war zones through education!

Our Justice Rising schools are beams of light in the community. As you can see in this photo, a Justice Rising school stands out amidst hundreds of thousands of tarped tents that displaced families now call home. Our organization has been forced to stretch and grow in the face of this war. Many of our students are living in unfathomable conditions and our schools have responded by standing with our students to keep them safe and studying.

Your help is needed more than ever before to meet the growing demand for our programs during these trying times. Join us on (Dec 3rd!) to support the most vulnerable students living in protracted conflict. More details coming soon…

This school, P.S. Kindness, opened in 2019. Every time I’ve visited this school, it’s around the end of the day and it is always raining. As the students are dismissed, a handful of stragglers will usually sit on the front slope with me and hang out while we wait for the rain to slow down. It’s picturesque, with all the greenery and the volcano looming in the background. You’ve probably seen us use the drone shot (slide 2) of this school many many times!

This year, as we rolled up to visit, the sight was jarring. Over the half-wall surrounding the school was a field of white tents as far as you could see - an IDP camp set up right next to the school. As I chatted with some students, I asked what life was like in the camps and one student said, “It’s hard. Food is expensive so we’re lucky to have one meal. There’s no water or toilets, so a lot of people are sick.”
While I was still mulling this over, they had already moved on to telling me their favorite subjects, favorite games, and their dreams of becoming doctors, teachers, and pro soccer players. All I can think is our students are truly a different level of resilient.

Hello! Jen from the Justice Rising US team here - I'll be taking over the JR instagram for a little bit :). Some of you may have met me at a JR event or if you've ever contacted our admin email, it was likely me who responded to you! In September, I was in Congo for back to school month and got to visit many of our schools and sit and chat with our students and teachers. Even with the long flights and the jetlag that feels like it will never go away, this trip is always the highlight of my year. I'll be sharing some stories from my trip over the next week!
