This value is calculated by an algorithm based upon the surface, distance, and weight to-be-carried at today's level of competition; so far so good, we are in-line with the track handicapper. Thereafter, the following primary handicapping factors are taken into account: Form, Speed, Pace, Trip, Angles; as well as several secondary handicapping factors. There could be hundreds of secondary factors and they will vary from race-to-race, like the Win % of Sire's Offspring in a maiden race, or a given trainer's Win % First-Off-the-Claim in a claiming race.
