French General

We’ve slid into our last week, enjoying every slow minute in France before we return home next week.
In our last week of the we had the pleasure of Suzette Smart teaching in the studio. The days were long and hot - but we made it through with an amazing group of women who stitched through the heat.
Our season in France is almost over - I’m all filled up again!
We could not do what we do without the wonderful guests, teachers, staff and of course our wonderful chef Charlotte Charlotte Clement for la gastronomie ♥️
Till next year - let’s hope it’s cooler 🥵

“The first rule of intelligent tinkering is to save all the parts” Paul Ehrlich
If I’ve learned nothing else in France, I’ve learned that the French are masters at saving it all.
At the brocantes or vide greniers, we often come upon someone’s former sewing basket, workshop box, or kitchen drawer. One can almost reconstruct a life from the fragments: the hem that was going to be fixed, the empty music cards, the unwritten mourning letters - as if nothing is ever truly meant to be thrown away. One more reason to love France ♥️
