🍔 Could Culver City become one of the first cities in Southern California to ban new drive-thru restaurants?
The city is considering a permanent ban on new drive-thrus after concerns over traffic, air pollution, and land use were raised following a proposed new In-N-Out location.
If approved, the ordinance would:
🚗 Ban future drive-thru restaurants
✅ Allow the city's nine existing drive-thrus to remain open
🌳 Encourage future development for housing, parks, or pedestrian-friendly spaces
Supporters say the move could improve air quality and reduce congestion, while critics argue drive-thrus remain important for accessibility and convenience.
The proposal is still under review, with city leaders expected to continue discussions in the coming months.
Do you think Culver City should ban new drive-thru restaurants? 🍟👇

⛽ California's gas tax has officially increased.
As of July 1, drivers are paying an additional 2.2 cents per gallon in state gas taxes, even as fuel prices across Southern California have started to decline.
The increase comes just as Costco opens its first standalone gas station in the U.S. in Mission Viejo, where drivers are already lining up for fuel priced well below the local average.
Will you go out of your way to save on gas, or stick with your usual station?
✈️ Another delay for LAX’s long-awaited SkyLink.
The automated people mover that promises to transform how travelers navigate Los Angeles International Airport is now expected to open on October 6, 2026.
The fully electric train system will connect terminals, Metro, parking structures, and rental cars while operating 24/7. While it won't be ready for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, officials say it should be up and running ahead of the 2027 Super Bowl and the 2028 Olympics.
After years of delays and rising costs, travelers are hoping this latest date finally sticks.
Would you use SkyLink on your next trip through LAX?
