One look at the state of the world and it’s clear to see our need for collective healing is great. Today’s syllabus project highlight is committed to bringing us that healing.

Harriet’s Apothecary is an intergenerational, healing village led by the brilliance and wisdom of Black Cis Women, Q***r and Trans healers, artists, health professionals, magicians, activists and ancestors, with a focus on community healing providing crucial health resources such as their Black Resilience in the Face of Bu****it Wellness Plan, and Ancestor Mantras for Courage in the Face of Fear, all of which can be accessed through the Syllabus Project at the link in our bio.

You’ll find recipes, art, stories and an outstanding catalogue of resources to aid in moving through hard times. Many thanks to Harriet’s Apothecary for all the healing they catalyze, and to Syllabus Project curators Turay Pastel and Lauren Couch for spreading this knowledge.

We’re halfway through December which means It’s officially the time of year for looking back on all we’ve accomplished together. 2020 has been a trying year, bringing many unexpected obstacles and changes to the world and the way Level Ground functions within it. Speaking to those changes, three of our team members - Level Ground Board member, Micah Bournes; SKEW 02 Curator, Lauren Couch; and Community Manager, Reneice Charles - have offered poignant reflections on their time and experiences with Level Ground throughout 2020 as a year-end offering. A former colleague wanted creative engagement photos that represented their culture and religion, so the couple is dressed as La Dama and El Catrin, two of the characters found on a deck of lotería cards." -Ruth Torres on the inspiration behind 100 Prints piece "God is Love."
