UPDATE: USAC fails to pass DSU’s COVID-19 Resolution on 9/12/23.

The DSU wrote a resolution titled “A Resolution to Mandate Masking, Weekly PCR testing, and Upcoming COVID-19 Vaccines, and to Improve Ventilation, and Reinstate the COVID-19 Task Force” and presented it to USAC. It failed in a 6-0-6 vote, meaning 6 in favor, 0 not in favor, and 6 abstains.

Both the actions of much of USAC, as well as the voting outcome, are very disappointing. The DSU plans to revise its current resolution into a new one to be presented, but we need your support! Call on your organizations to support the DSU, and call on your council-members to demand visibility for this issue and hold them accountable. Contact USAC council-members and the USAC president to advocate for an emergency meeting to be held for a revised version of the resolution before the start of the school year!
