Longview Fire Department provides an array of services to the citizens of Longview. Currently, LFD consists of 185 full-time authorized positions, 177 of which are uniformed personnel and 8 are civilians. At the request of the State of Texas, the Longview Fire Department has deployed additional personnel to assist with the severe weather currently impacting communities across the state.
We have officially activated members of our Emergency Medical Task Force (EMTF) and a Helicopter Search and Rescue Team (HSART) swimmer to provide critical, on-the-ground and in-air support where it is needed most.
We are incredibly proud of our personnel answering the call to serve our fellow Texans. Please keep our deployed members and all those affected by these storms in your thoughts. Stay safe, Texas! 🚒🚁

🏆 VICTORY IS SWEET (AND TASTES LIKE BBQ) 🏆
Last night, your Longview Fire crews stepped up to the plate—literally—at the Texas Roadhouse Rib Eating Contest, and we are thrilled to announce that the trophy is coming home to the station! 🔥
It was a fierce, messy, and absolutely delicious battle, but we managed to edge out our brothers and sisters in blue at the Longview Police Department. Huge respect to LPD for a great fight—you definitely made us work for every single bite! 👮♂️🤝👨🚒
