Clinton Young Foundation
The Clinton Young Foundation supports wrongfully convicted and disproportionately sentenced individuals in Texas, through advocacy, legal representation and education. The foundation got its name from Clinton Young, a former death-sentenced individual in Texas who has been convicted and sentenced to death for two capital murders that we believe he did not commit.

The State’s View of “Danger to Society”
The Texas Attorney General’s Office prosecuted former attorney Adam Hoffman for continuous s**ual assault of a child over a period of more than 3 years. According to reports, the State offered a plea agreement involving 30 days in jail. The judge ultimately rejected that recommendation and sentenced him to 60 days.
This is the SAME Attorney General’s Office that aggressively retried Clinton Young for capital murder after his conviction was overturned for prosecutorial misconduct — despite Clint having spent years out on bond successfully reintegrating into society, working, reconnecting with family, and staying out of trouble.
Two very different cases. Two very different approaches to punishment, risk assessment, and rehabilitation.
People can draw their own conclusions about which individual presents the greater risk of committing future crimes while free.
Disgraced former Waco attorney Adam Hoffman begins serving 60 day jail sentence Hoffman pleaded guilty April 16 to indecent assault and displaying harmful materials to a minor, both Class A misdemeanors punishable by up to a year in jail.
We’re incredibly grateful to share that our client, Thurman, will be released early this year. ✨⚖️
When we took on this case, Thurman had been sentenced to 35 years for a DUI offense (driving under the influence) and an additional 10 years for evading arrest (he fled on foot; thankfully, no one was injured). It goes without saying that those were serious mistakes. But we also believed the punishment was not entirely proportionate in relation to the crime (in the Netherlands, you usually get a fine for a DUI).
At his hearing, we presented evidence of who Thurman is today, not just who he was at one of the lowest points in his life. In the years since, he has taken meaningful steps to address his substance abuse, grow, and take accountability.
His struggles were rooted in a deeply difficult period following a tragic loss, and he has worked hard to turn his life around.
Thurman also had something truly special behind him: support letters from six correctional officers (!) supporting his release and highlighting his work ethic, character, and the effort he has consistently put in during his time inside. That kind of support says a lot.
The Parole Board agreed that change matters.
We don’t have an exact release date yet, but Thurman is expected to come home this year and that’s something worth recognizing. 🙏🏼
Thank you all for your support this year! 🧡💪🏼 It makes a difference!
*Thurman served 8.5 years on the DUI and 3 years on the evading arrest

UPDATE CLINTON ⚖️
This weekend, Clinton was transferred from Coffield Unit to Ellis Unit.
Since arriving, he has been without a mattress.
Without a blanket.
Without proper clothing.
Without even a functioning light in his cell.
Let that sink in.
No mattress to sleep on.
No blanket for warmth.
No basic clothing.
Sitting in a dark cell.
These are not privileges. They are minimum standards and every inmate is supposed to have them upon arrival at a new unit.
Clinton has been incarcerated for decades at this point. He understands prison life. But being left without the most basic necessities is not “normal.” It is not acceptable. And it should concern all of us.
We are actively working to address this, but we want people to be aware of what is happening behind prison walls — because conditions like this usually thrive in silence.
We will continue to advocate. 💪🏼 We will continue to speak up. And we will not normalize inhumane treatment.
Please keep Clinton in your thoughts and send him an uplifting message in the comments! ✍️ 🧡

This morning, Danique hit the streets of Austin and absolutely crushed the Half Marathon 💪🏽🏃♀️
With a blazing average pace of 07:07 per mile, she powered through the 20K in 1:33:07 and kept pushing strong all the way! 🙌🏼 Her grit, discipline, and heart were on full display — and we could not be prouder.
Danique raised $1,500 for the Clinton Young Foundation while training and preparing for this race. Every mile she ran today was also for the people we fight for every single day.
Because of her effort, more families will receive support. More cases will move forward. More hope will be carried. ⚖️
We are leaving the GoFundMe open through today for anyone who still wants to contribute and celebrate her incredible accomplishment. ❤️
