News from the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine at Washington State University: Dr. Christie Kirkpatrick Schmutz has been named the Outstanding Clinical Educator of Year One and Year Two medical students for the Vancouver area cohort. Each year the medical school, from which Christie graduated in its inaugural class, recognizes outstanding community faculty and healthcare professionals who help educate and inspire medical students across Washington. Congratulations, Christie! We are so proud you are caring for our patients right here at home.

We were honored to attend the Night of Hope and Healing in Longview last week. Following the Nippon tragedy, the evening provided an opportunity for our community to come together, support one another, and reflect on the importance of hope, healing, and connection.

Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, and all who participated in creating a meaningful space for remembrance, support, and resilience. We are grateful to be part of a community that continues to care for and uplift one another during difficult times.
