My background: I loved hula-hooping as a child, I picked it back up again as a hobby in 2010 at the age of 20. At a BBQ on July 4th, 2012 a good friend handed me my first lit fire staff and I fell instantly in love. I was forced to take a short hiatus after breaking my dominant hand playing roller derby in August 2012; I had to reteach myself to use my right hand. Flow and yoga helped me regain my strength and flexibility much more quickly than physical therapy alone.
