onal involvement and benefits from her overall understanding of and expertise in building services engineering. In 2008, GBE relocated their offices from Marina del Rey to Long Beach, CA. In part, the new offices provided a convenient location for their Southern California client base and proximity to public transportation and amenities including restaurants and services. GBE is now the proud owner and occupant of a LEED Silver-certified building as well. Committed to sustainable design in their design projects wherever possible, GBE demonstrated that commitment by renovating their building originally constructed in 1902. Though faced with many renovation challenges, the result is an inviting, employee-friendly workplace that focuses on energy efficiency through the use of natural daylighting, low-flow plumbing fixtures, occupancy lighting timers, energy-saving fixtures, sealed roof and gas heating. In addition, sustainable materials were used throughout including bamboo shelving, recyclable carpeting, low-VOC paint, and recycled-material furnishings. The breadth of GBE’s expertise, experience and history of successful projects illustrate that GBE is deeply committed to listening to its clients, understanding their needs and delivering an exceptionally designed and engineered project.
