The inspo for this song? Kind of random, but a lot of the lyrics and ideas came to me after watching the entire series of Gossip Girl LMAO.

I felt like the show really accurately captured the tension between rich vs. poor, white collar vs. blue collar, educated vs. not educated, etc. Dan and his family were always kind of looked down upon for not being in the elite circle.

In the final episode, he has a bestselling book and status - but still says it doesn’t matter. Because at the end of the day, it was all a birthright… and he wasn’t born into it. He could never really belong.

Not that I’m defending him because he was a menace lol, but his ending monologue stuck out to me.

And of course it’s also reference to the actual song, “Loser” by the legendary Beck.

P.S. NOT saying that Beck is a loser haha I’m just referencing the song and also definitely NOT saying people who work blue-collar are losers. It’s more about how society can cause you to feel like you’re not good enough. Plz don’t cancel me haha…or do! 🤷‍♀️ Love y’all!
