Individual Academic Plans. Written plans for each student helps staff monitor the student’s progress and stay on track. Academic Excellence Workshops. Students are schedule in the same core math and science classes and taught group study skills to achieve academic success. Advisors have a designated time during the school day to concentrate on the program. Test preparation. Teachers help students prepare for college entrance exams. Study skills training. Students learn the most effective techniques for academic success. MESA Day Academies. Students compete in hands-on math and science activities at the local and regional level. Career and college exploration. Guest speakers and field trips show students a wide variety of college and career opportunities. Incentive awards. Student achievement, participation and leadership are recognized. Parent leadership training. Parents are empowered to become effective advocates for their children.
