One of my most interesting cases has a lesson that could save your life! 1. A full physical exam was performed with each visit, but nothing was visible on physical exam until the abscess developed. 2. The first CT didn’t go down far enough to see the foreign body (contrast wouldn’t have helped!). 3. Ear pain is a very common complaint and I would be negligent if I ordered a CT neck on every patient with ear pain without an obvious cause. #case #mystery #medicine #hospital #interesting 11/29/2025
