Elders Rising is a non-profit cooperatively run organization which begins with relationships of shared lives. Elders Rising’s goal, both immediate and long term, is to lift LGBTQ Seniors out of invisibility, isolation and loneliness. Elders Rising hopes to provide affordable housing as well as direct provision of, or signposting towards, meaningful support services. We intend to continually expand

Last night, it was thrilling to hear Coleman Domingo use the phrase of lifting Rustin "out of invisibility." It was that very idea which inspired me over a decade ago to lift the invisible Rainbow Heroes of the City of Long Beach. Now, in cooperation with the Arts Council for Long Beach and the Historical Society of Long Beach, Elders Rising is watching this dream come true. Do you know someone who is a Rainbow Hero? We are looking to make them visible.
