It sure seems to us that requiring them to help develop PUBLIC resources to power all of us and hold the line on corporate gouging of the general public would a better plan. The unregulated power plants some data centers are already planning in building are not a good idea and it is hard to imagine they will have any concerns about safety, pollution, noise abatement, etc.
