Its that time of year that bird scammers are in full swing. Every summer we have tons of customers questioning why birds at stores cost what they do, and that Google AI tells them they should be 1/4 of the price. Raising birds is a lot of work, but that's a story for another day. Today's focus is fake websites.

This website is the 2nd result when I searched "cockatoos for sale", that's right the 2nd. This is 1000000% a scam website.

The biggest red flag is payment. When payments accept are zelle, cashapp, crypto, PayPal friends and family, Apple pay, wire transfers its going to be a scam. These scammers will not take credit cards or PayPal goods and services because they offer buyer protection.

Many of these websites are beautiful and informative. They might offer live chat support or even eggs for sale.

If you are looking for a new pet bird, make sure you acquire the bird in person unless you know the seller personally. A days long car ride is worth it for a pet that will live 20-80 years. Don't fall for these online scammers.

If you comment on one of our posts and someone replies to offer you a bird that is not this profile, it's a scammer. I have a block list of 1000s of profiles. They will comment they have birds for sale, rehoming or adoption or they will try and get you to join a group
