Walzer Architecture

This house had a tiny old kitchen and an even smaller, uncomfortable eating area and a separate dining room. We combined, opened, and renovated the three rooms. By adding french doors, direct access to the backyard was provided where there had been none. Take a look at the photos. The "before" shots are at the end.

This is happening tomorrow - Saturday (Oct 4) afternoon from 1-5pm. The weather forecast is for lots of sun so we will be entirely outdoors on a beautiful lawn in Montclair. Local architects & contractors have built unique pet shelters as part of a competition. You can vote for your favorite and bid at a silent auction to take one home. There will be a cool craft project for kids to design and build their own little doghouse (suitable for toy dogs). Kids can get a temporary cat or dog tattoo and can have a chance at winning a MagnaTile Dog House kit (we're giving away 6!) Everyone will get to meet and greet some adorable and adoptable puppies. Plus refreshments and more! Join me!

Join me at this great event on October 4! Local architects and contractors are busy designing and building unique pet houses to compete for ribbons! You can vote for your favorite and bid on one (or more) to take home. There will be super fun activities for children like making and decorating a mini dog house or getting a temporary pet tattoo. And there will be dogs (available for adoption) for everyone's enjoyment! Best of all - Barkitecture is free to attend!

I'm excited to be starting my term as the 2025 President of the American Institute of Architects, Newark & Suburban Section!

This contemporary home was closed where the owners wanted it to be open and open where they wanted more privacy. So we took down lots of walls and added a few others. While we were at it, we updated the kitchen and expanded it to include the laundry room (which we relocated). We redesigned the family room, dining area, basement (not shown) and the pool cabana.
