Cheryl Mae Brinson, retired public school educator/administrator, is the owner and founder of SRRTHS. Brinson has a Bachelor's Degree in Education, Master's Degree in Teaching & Learning, and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership. She holds numerous certifications and endorsements with the State of Florida Department of Education (FLDOE), including Educational Leadership. Brinson's certifi
cations and enorsements may be viewed on the FLDOE website (DOE certificate number 733169). Brinson designed Suwannee River Ridge Technical High School (SRRTHS) to meet the needs of non-traditional students. She is committed to the mission of helping others achieve their educational goals. In 1978, Mrs. Brinson married at age 16 and became a non-traditional student. She took the GED after completing the 11th grade and enrolled in college. A non-traditional route to high school graduation was critical to Mrs. Brinson and her husband, Tony. As non-traditional students, they raised two daughters, Lacy Lee and Jackie-Jo, and taught them the importance of a good education. Today, both their daughters are practicing attorneys. In 2013, Mrs. Brinson and her husband retired at ages 52 and 55, respectively. Both serve as board members for SRRTHS and are able to devote themselves full-time to the Vision and Mission of providing a premier, non-traditional high school experience for anyone who has had their high school experience interrupted by life's circumstances.
