Mission
The Colorado Drowning Prevention Taskforce's mission is to reduce drowning deaths and near drowning incidents in Colorado by aligning aquatic experts with the community. General Information:

Grim weekend in Colorado's fast-moving rivers with two killed, two missing 06/22/2015

Please be very careful and follow these rules to be SAFER around the water:
1. Always wear a lifejacket.
2. Never go on the water alone.
3. Keep your kids within arms reach.
4. Take swim lessons
5. Know your limitations, especially for moving water such as rivers. They are flowing extremely high.

For the river specifically:
1. Know your ability
2. Scout the river for hazards (strainers, debris, dangerous conditions)
3. If you fall in, put feed down stream and look for point to get out.
4. Get out of the water as soon as possible.
5. If you see someone fall in, use Reach, Throw and Go
6. Call 911 immediately.
