FirstLight Workshop

We just completed two, back-to-back FirstLight Alaska Inside Passage Photo Expeditions, aboard the “Northern Song”: those two groups were 6 participants each, plus Becky and me. Each adventure presenting unique photographic offerings: from bubble-netting humpbacks, Grizzly bears feeding in a stream, breaching humpbacks, orcas on a hunt, visiting a small Alaskan village, motoring in small rafts near the face of active glaciers as well as motoring in those skiffs among humpback whales rolling through the water a few feet from us. Add to this mix, incredible dining, plus the enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable assistance of Captain Harley and crew, Bart & Katy. Two truly memorable, visual, and wonderful experiences. Our FirstLight CM Ranch 2024 is done, what a great group of photographers and what a stunning body of work created by these folks! I decided to go back to my photographic roots at the rodeo, only shooting black and white with a fast 28mm lens.
