Happy 4th, y’all!
Spent two hours out here this morning cleaning, mulching, weeding, fertilizing, watering, and harvesting. This is the part they don’t show you. Nobody tells you gardening is 90% chores and 10% pretty pictures. But look at her. 🫶🏽

Devani says we’re having Tomato and flower soup tonight I guess 😩😂
Got the girls this mud kitchen from Sam's Club and now they’re pulling produce straight off my plants to cook with. 😳
Can’t even be mad. At least they’re outside but they better bring my stuff in the house when they finish 😂

I still don’t have not ONE green bean because of these dang on rabbits!! 😩🐇
They don’t bother my tomatoes, my okra, or nothing else. Just my green beans. 😂

🥗 Shake, Shake, Garden Dressing! 🌿🍯
Looking for a fun way to get the kids excited about eating salad?
Let them make their own salad dressing!
Kid-Friendly Honey Herb Dressing
✨ Ingredients:
• 1/4 cup olive oil
• 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
• 1 teaspoon honey
• 1 tablespoon fresh herbs from the garden
• Pinch of salt
✨ Directions:
Add everything to a jar with a lid and let the kids shake, shake, shake! Then drizzle over fresh greens and veggies.
My favorite part? Kids are much more likely to try a salad when they helped make it.

Need something to do with the kids this summer? Grab a few grow bags. 🌱
Back in May, I had the opportunity to attend the Farm to ECE Conference with Curricula Concepts, Inc., and we snagged these grow bags.
Today, we finally put them to use with the littles. 🌱
The girls filled them with soil and planted their own containers. These little bags are perfect for families who don’t have a lot of space but still want to grow something at home.
You can grow things like:
🌱 Herbs (basil, mint, parsley, chives)
🌱 Green onions
🌱 Lettuce
🌱 Spinach
🌱 Radishes
🌱 Baby carrots
🌱 Strawberries
🌱 Flowers for pollinators
Sometimes the smallest containers create the biggest learning opportunities.
Today’s lesson: you don’t need a farm to start growing. 💚
