Community Bakery was started in 1947 by Ralph Hinson in the Rose City section of North Little Rock. The bakery moved to a storefront near 14th and Main Streets in Little Rock in 1952 where, over the years, it became an institution in the area. Hinson’s head cake decorator, Agnes Bargiel, bought the business from him in the late 1970′s and operated it until she sold it to Joe Fox in 1983. Bargiel c

🎧✨ Behind the Apron: Meet DJ! ✨🍪
Meet Damon Joseph — but around here, everyone knows him as DJ! DJ works on our Janitorial Maintenance team at our Main Street location and is also learning the art of baking as part of his Community Bakery journey.
DJ has been with the CB family for 7 months, and one of his favorite things to make is our cookies. “I could do it in my sleep,” he says. “It’s easy and fun.” 🍪💛
His go-to order? A delicious Club Sandwich on jalapeño cheddar bread — solid choice, honestly. 👏
When asked what he loves most about working at Community Bakery, DJ shared three simple but powerful words: people, creativity, and growth.
Fun fact: Outside of work, DJ loves making music and creating beats. 🎶
DJ says he feels proud just being part of Community Bakery. “I take pride in my job and my teammates,” he shared — and that pride shows in the care and positivity he brings every day.
To DJ, Baking a Difference means always giving your best and keeping a positive attitude toward both customers and coworkers.
