Please help us congratulate Shannon Whatley for being selected as the May APP of the month. She has been recognized for her exceptional skills and outstanding care.
Shannon received her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Northwestern State University in Shreveport, Louisiana. Prior to becoming a nurse midwife, she worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport, Louisiana.
She is passionate about providing evidence-based, low-tech/high touch care to the pregnant and birthing mothers at UAMS with a compassionate and gentle approach. It’s important to her to form relationships with her patients and their families and to empower them to achieve the birth experience they desire. She also enjoys providing gynecologic and preconception care to non-pregnant women. She is honored to be able to care for the diverse families that seek healthcare at UAMS.
Outside of work, Shannon enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and spending time outdoors with her husband and four children.
