RESULTS FROM DC FASTPITCH SUMMER WORLD SERIES @ MYRTLE BEACH - JUNE 26-28

We had a blast at our teams first DC Fastpitch tournament in Myrtle Beach. A 3 day Summer World Series event that was filled with laughter, growth, hot bats and great plays. The field was strong, with 18 teams from many different states. We played 8 games at North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex and they did a wonderful job hosting along with the DC Fastpitch staff. Weather was cooperating, and that’s always a good thing!

The girls battled the heat and some long games, through ITB. We ended up going 4-4, finishing runner up in the Silver bracket, placing 8th out of 18 teams. A big accomplishment for our first season together against some tough teams. It’s always nice to be one of the last teams still playing late on Sunday!

We are proud of the fight our ladies put up this past weekend. Were mistakes made? Sure. That’s what makes us great, we take those and learn from them. We will continue to grow on and off the field. We executed some of the best hitting our team has seen, along with some good defense and pitching/catching.

Now it’s time to go back to work, in preparation for Johnson City, Tennessee in late July. Let’s go get em’ ladies!
