✨ Insurance Update for Our Community ✨

At As You Are Counseling Services, we believe that mental health care should feel accessible, humane, and grounded in real connection. We’re proud to continue expanding the insurance plans we accept so more individuals and families in the Lititz area can get the support they deserve — without unnecessary barriers.

We currently accept Aetna, Highmark, Capital Blue Cross (via Highmark), and Quest Behavioral Health, with Optum coming soon. This growth means that more people can step into therapy feeling supported, seen, and cared for from the very first call.

Our mission has always been centered on meeting people right where they are. Expanding insurance accessibility is one more way we live that out — by opening the door wider for our neighbors, our community, and anyone ready to begin their healing work.

I have been working through a Women’s Mental Health Specialist certification and the dearth of information on women’s reproductive trauma experiences is staggering. Today’s session concentrates on perinatal loss. Chances are, we all know many people who have dealt with this possibly even silently over our lifetimes. The complexities of women’s experiences are limitless. Today was a good reminder to be kind to others and be open to deepening our own understanding through ongoing learning and awareness. ♥️

I sometimes work with clients who are recovering from severe relational abuse where their sense of reality is distorted by a disordered individual. When they have done the work to set boundaries and separate from this person, then the next shoe drops and they find themselves a victim of an all-out smear campaign. It’s important to remember that when the abuser loses their ability to control you, they are feeling their power over you dwindle, so they try to control how others see you. This means you are doing something right. Trying to defend yourself against false accusations and character assassination is a trap-a trap to keep you connected to an emotional vampire. Remember that their constant criticisms and attacks are merely a confession of how they feel about themselves inside and move on with your day. Be strong. You know who you are. It’s a wild, wild world out there, but you’ve got this! 💪🏼 ❤️
