As you make plans to celebrate, please remember that the use of fireworks is prohibited within city limits.

Fireworks can cause serious injuries, start fires, frighten pets, and put unnecessary strain on emergency responders. You can help keep our community safe by leaving the fireworks to the professionals.

A $200.00 fine may be issued for each violation.

Let's work together to protect our neighborhoods and ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday. Thank you for doing your part to keep our city safe!

☀️ Summer Heat Safety Reminder ☀️

Hot weather can become dangerous quickly. Help protect yourself, your family, and your neighbors by following these simple safety tips:

-Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty.
-Stay cool by spending time in air-conditioned buildings or shaded areas whenever possible.
-Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and a wide-brimmed hat when outdoors.
-Avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day, typically between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
-Never leave children, older adults, or pets in a parked vehicle—even for a few minutes.
-Watch for signs of heat-related illness, including:
*Heavy sweating or hot, dry skin
*Dizziness or fainting
*Nausea or vomiting
*Confusion or difficulty speaking
*Rapid pulse

🚑 If someone is experiencing severe symptoms such as confusion, loss of consciousness, seizures, or difficulty breathing, call 911 immediately.

Stay safe, stay cool, and remember to check on older adults, neighbors, and anyone who may be more vulnerable during periods of extreme heat. 🌞💙
